چکیده

Abstract This paper presents the first report of ultrasonic treatment (UST) assisted casting independent 2D layered hexagonal boron nitride (hBN) reinforced aluminum matrix composites. A linear enhancement nucleation density is obtained with time from 0 to 90 s dispersion hBN platelets by UST. Outstanding grain refinement 72% 375.3 103.6 ?m UST for 90 s. The corresponding nanohardness 709.2 MPa, a hardening 36% due symbiotic and contributions. Anchoring orientation dictate that elastic modulus improved up 150% ultrasonication exfoliated reinforcement layers reduce coefficient friction during sliding wear 15% loss worn material 46% in these mechanism dispersion, improvement properties, quantitative correlations constitute step advancement towards understanding role particle morphology dimensionality on metal

Mechanical and Tribological Behavior of Aluminum Alloy LM13 Reinforced with Titanium Dioxide Metal Matrix Composites

In the present research work physical, mechanical and tribological behavior of Aluminum (Al) alloy LM13 reinforced with Nano-sized Titanium Dioxide (TiO2) particulates were fabricated, mechanical and tribological properties were investigated. The amount of nano TiO2 particulates in the composite was added from 0.5% to 2% in 0.5 weight percent (wt %) increments. The Al-LM13-TiO2 Metal Matrix Com...

Mechanical and Tribological Behavior of Particulate Reinforced Aluminum Metal Matrix Composites – a review

Aluminum Metal Matrix Composites (MMCs) sought over other conventional materials in the field of aerospace, automotive and marine applications owing to their excellent improved properties. These materials are of much interest to the researchers from few decades. These composites initially replaced Cast Iron and Bronze alloys but owing to their poor wear and seizure resistance, they were subject...

Boron nitride nanotube reinforced hydroxyapatite composite: mechanical and tribological performance and in-vitro biocompatibility to osteoblasts.

This study proposes boron nitride nanotube (BNNT) reinforced hydroxyapatite (HA) as a novel composite material for orthopedic implant applications. The spark plasma sintered (SPS) composite structure shows higher density compared to HA. Minimal lattice mismatch between HA and BNNT leads to coherent bonding and strong interface. HA-4 wt% BNNT composite offers excellent mechanical properties-120%...

Mechanical Properties of Boron and Kevlar-49 Reinforced Thermosetting Composites

Glass reinforced thermosetting composite materials are now widely usUUed in building and construction applications. However, the adoption of Boron and Kevlar based composite materials in this industry has been very slow, and the main reasons are lack of previous experiences to assess the durability of such composite products and understanding of their properties by designers. In order to fill t...
